My name is Deborah Confortini. Born and raised in Rome,
I have lived and worked in Switzerland for many years. In early 2017,
I acquired Swiss citizenship.
Translation is my passion. A good translation is a work of art:
I am not entirely satisfied with my work until it reads as though
it were originally written in the target language, while accurately
conveying the original meaning exactly as the author intended.
I have more than 25 years’ experience translating all sorts of texts
in a wide variety of fields, ranging from complex legal texts, through blogs
and company news magazines to technical websites and art catalogues.
Words travel worlds. Translators do the driving.

Over the years, I have compiled a large glossary of terminology for the following text types:
•
Insurance
General terms and conditions , training material, marketing brochures, legal letters etc.
•
Marketing
All sorts of advertising material
•
Economy
Annual reports, editorial texts etc.
•
Health care
Medical reports, appeal decisions etc.
•
Technology
Technical descriptions, explanations of terms, definitions of roles and responsibilities of special committees etc.
•
Art
Exhibition catalogues, art insurance documentation
In all these areas, together with my colleagues, I deliver high-quality translations requiring only minor revision. I also have a good grasp of German and Italian "helvetisms", namely vocabulary specific to Switzerland.
