My name is Deborah Confortini. Born and raised in Rome,
I have lived and worked in Switzerland for many years. In early 2017,
I acquired Swiss citizenship.
Translation is my passion. A good translation is a work of art:
I am not entirely satisfied with my work until it reads as though
it were originally written in the target language, while accurately
conveying the original meaning exactly as the author intended.
I have more than 25 years’ experience translating all sorts of texts
in a wide variety of fields, ranging from complex legal texts, through blogs
and company news magazines to technical websites and art catalogues.
Over the years, I have compiled a large glossary of terminology for the following text types:
•
Insurance
General terms and conditions , training material, marketing brochures, legal letters etc.
•
Marketing
All sorts of advertising material
•
Economy
Annual reports, editorial texts etc.
•
Health care
Medical reports, appeal decisions etc.
•
Technology
Technical descriptions, explanations of terms, definitions of roles and
responsibilities of special committees etc.
•
Art
Exhibition catalogues, art insurance documentation
In all these areas, together with my colleagues, I deliver high-quality translations requiring only minor
revision. I also have a good grasp of German and Italian "helvetisms", namely vocabulary specific to
Switzerland.
